South-Eastern European Regional Programming Contest has been organized online

This year’s
contest was very special for Romania because we celebrated the 29th edition
of ICPC SEERC hosted at Politehnica
University of Bucharest.

Nicolae Tapus conducted this important Regional
Contest, SEERC, since 1994
In the
South-Eastern European Region, the best students from 66 Universities, from 8
countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia and Turkey) were organized in 128 teams:

This year where a
lot of selection contests at level of University, Sub-regional, National:
The judge team has
proposed 14 problems to be solved in the contest during the 5 hours.

The programming languages of the
Regional Contest are Java and C/C++, Python, while the available development
software was: gcc, g++, Sun Java SDK, Emacs, Vim, manpages-dev, Java, Python Documentation, Eclipse, jEdit, CodeBlocks, GNU Make, Ant,
Geany, Mozilla Firefox browser.

The
set of problems was difficult enough according to the contest’s level.
The contest was strictly supervised
by a computer program eolymp. Due to the exceptional
circumstances of wartime in Ukraine, the contest run on two servers, one for Vinnytsia site and one for Bucharest site, to be able to
decouple when exceptional circumstances occur in Ukraine.
The 128 teams numbered over 400
students, coaches, reserves and guests. There were
more than 20 staff members and more than 50 volunteers who contributed to the
organization and run of the contest.

The contest budget was raised using funds from ICPC
Foundation, JetBrains, Huawei. In Vinnytsia site the
main financial support was given by ICPC Foundation, and additional support was
given by local partners of the Contest.
